A Piece of Cake Comes to College of St. Benilde

Last May 15, 2019, A Piece of Cake dropped by the College of St. Benilde in Manila – a perfect venue for the roadshow since it offers a compelling culinary program and is known to be Chef Miko Aspiras’ beloved alma mater. Both he and Chef Aileen Anastacio demonstrated their own versions of the New York Cheesecake – one classic and one modern, just like the ones on the cover of the book.

Starting things off with some tips and tricks

While showing off his version of the New York Cheesecake, Chef Miko even recalled his memories while he was still in culinary school and shared some tips and life hacks to students who may one day follow his footsteps.

Right after the chefs have created their desserts, they proceeded with the book launch and signing of A Piece of Cake where CSB students and alumni got to buy a copy at a discounted price. The school even held a mini dessert tasting after the main event to the delight of students and alumni.

The book is definitely a must-read and the live demo was surely an experience to remember for aspiring chefs and bakers.
